Pranayama

Pranayama is the ancient art of yogic breathing. Prana can be thought of as breath, respiration, life, and vitality, and Ayama (yama) as stretch, extend, or expand. Pranayama then means the extension of breath.

Although there is no officially recognised qualification for teaching breathwork, there is for Pranayama.

Pranayama is normally included in the generic yoga qualifications, but this provides only a short introduction. Advanced courses in pranayama are available for experienced yoga teachers. 

As well as practicing pranayama daily, I am currently undertaking training in advanced pranayama techniques, and teach a few clients in 1-to-1 sessions.
