In this article, the authors investigate the effects of four yogic breathing techniques (including Ujjayi) on stress and well-being. 36 participants practised yogic breathing daily over an 8-week programme. The results indicate that Ujjayi breathing reduced stress, increased perception of peacefulness, and promoted a state of well-being. Yogic breathing techniques can be used tools for self-regulation and therapeutic purposes.
