A message from Pat

At the age of 46 and after a number of serious health issues, I decided to change my life and improve my health & happiness. 

I spent 3 years researching and trying different things, including yoga, Qigong, meditation, mindfulness and many other techniques and methods. 

My physical health did improve, but something was still not right.

I knew about some breathing techniques used in yoga and Qigong. So I decided to give them a go. 

The change was dramatic. The breathing gave me inner strength and confidence I never thought possible. 

Physically, I was lighter and stronger. And mentally, I had more focus and higher concentration levels.

However, the results were inconsistent. Some days were better than others.

So, I continued learning and researching. I was particularly interested in the ancient breathing techniques of Pranayama and Tummo, and went on to do an advanced Pranayama course with a leading yoga institute in Northern India.

This, combined with further extensive research, breathing training, and practice, led me to the realisation that it is not simply doing the breathing exercises that matters most.

The reason these techniques work so well is because of a combination of the characteristics of each specific breathing technique, and the intensity, duration, regularity, and order they are practiced.

In particular, my findings showed that the combination of 1/ Quick Breathing; 2/ Slow, Deep Breathing; and 3/ Long Outbreaths was at the core of improved health and better performance. 

What I had experienced was a profound improvement in my health (like a complete mind/body reset), and dramatic physical and mental improvement (e.g., stamina, endurance, focus). And, I wanted to share what I had found with others.

I searched extensively for courses that might already offer this specific combination that matched my findings, but after weeks of searching I couldn’t find anything.

So, I started PatMagik.com and further developed the 3-step Pat Magik Breathing Method (1/ Quick Breathing; 2/ Slow, Deep, Breathing; and 3/ Long Outbreaths.

To help deliver my breathing exercises to as wider audience as possible, I created two courses; one aimed at improving mind & body health; and the other targeted at improving performance.
